I loved when Papa and I would draw together and bond over art.

I remember having the most wonderful conversation with Douglas. I couldn’t understand most of it! ( that accent got me every time).
But, I know I felt peaceful. A lovely gentleman. RIP Douglas.

Uncle Douglas was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He will be truly missed by the whole family. Australia has always seemed so far away to us yet face book has helped us to share happy memories, photos and interactions that were never possible years ago. Our special family page is filled will photos that Douglas has proudly shared with us all. We have been lucky enough to have visited Douglas and Alice three times which brought us even closer. While we can’t be there to celebrate the life of Douglas we shall be with you in real-time . Safe Hame Douglas with all our love Karen , Kevin, Steve , Amy, Lyra and Everly xxx

Douglas was my best pal when we lived as youngsters in Edinburgh, then my best pen-pal for the half-century when we lived on different continents. He was also my “Best Man” when I married Sheuna in 1967 and it’s no coincidence that “best” always described him. He was the best, and we’ll miss him very much. Charlie and Sheuna Main

I am so sad to lose such a wonderful brother, he was so gentle and kind and although we were at the other side of the world, I thought of Douglas often with fond memories of growing up in Edinburgh. Sending love to all the family at this very sad time. Doreen & Kenny

Wonderful farewell to Douglas. Chris and I watched it in Texas this afternoon. So sorry that we could not be there in person. We have such fond memories of Alice and Douglas and are so glad that they were part of our lives.
