I was deeply saddened to learn of Joy’s passing. I want to express my deepest sympathies to you and your family during this sad time. I remember meeting Joy in our Graduate Diploma in counselling course at La Trobe uni in 1999. We had to pick a partner to do an exercise in class and Joy seemed friendly and approachable. I remember when I asked her to work together, she had this warm and light-hearted smile. Since then she has been one of the few friends I had kept in touch over the years. She used to take me out to Heide art museum and we had a nice chat about family and life events. Joy always had a thoughtful and kind presence. I will miss her deeply. May you rest in peace.
Condolences to You Michael and your family. Joy was a much loved part of our Talking Threads group. I remember her fondly as my desk buddy at Box Hill TAFE where she was always neat and tidy and tolerated my more chaotic approach to art making and spreading out in our cramped space! Her sense of humour was great. It was lovely to see her at Beasley’s nursery some months ago, maybe a year, ago.
Love, Kaye
A wonderful service for a wonderful and graceful lady. A very fulfilling life, and as highlighted by Tracey, a courageous and brave “warrior” through a difficult battle. Best wishes to Michael, and all the family.
My sincere condolences. Joy has joined her parents and brothers leaving an amazing family to carry on her legacy. It was a brilliant service. The piece Tracey read was beautiful and Michaels words demonstrated the bond they shared . Wishing you all the very best in this incredibly difficult time.
