Eli meant so much to me. He was my first best friend, my first crush and my second family all in one. I will never forget him. The holidays, the years of friendship. He was an amazing caring and loving person. Even if we hadn’t seen each other in years. Knowing his gone has made my world a little less bright. I love you Eli. You and Tim, Sophie and Zac u will always be a big influence in how I grew up and in my life.
I’m friends with Tim Galbaly, Elly’s father. We both worked at Edmund Rice Foundation projects in Nairobi Kenya during the Gone Fishing immersion in 2015. I’m devastated to hear of his loss. You are in our thoughts and the people of Nairobi send their deepest condolences.

Thanks for allowing me to experience Eli’s farewell in Perth. It was a magnificent celebration of his life. He certainly managed to to live a huge life in his 28 years. The world is diminished with his passing. My deepest sympathy to Sophie, Tim and Zak.

Zac, Oliver and Emma, you were incredible yesterday. You should be so proud of the strength you showed and the beautiful words spoken about Eli. It is so clear to see the unconditional love you have for him. I first heard about Eli through Oliver’s stories and photos of their weekend catch ups. I made a few remarks to Zac that Eli is clearly the coolest Galbally and although it was all in fun, it only took one photo to see he was something else. I feel so privileged to have been able to watch the celebration of his life and to learn more about your enigmatic Eli.
To Tim and Sophy, you have raised incredible men and that is so clear in knowing Zac, and now hearing about Eli and how caring, giving and loving he was. The love you have as parents is indisputable and the words you spoke about his life and how you nurtured his free spirit will always remain with me. Sending my heartfelt condolences x

Sofie, Tim and Zac and family, we have only just become aware of Eli’s passing. Our hearts go out to you all. Although we have not seen each other for many years we always remember the beautiful vibrant kid he was in primary school. He obviously turned into an amazing young man who touched those he knew in a way that will never be forgotten. What a wonderful tribute you paid to his life. The love you have for him was shared so beautifully and passionately, as you shared stories and admiration for Eli’s life, He was obviously a person who lived his life to the fullest. He didn’t just walk through it, he danced and embraced it and made the most of it. What an incredible young man you raised. We are so saddened for your loss. Please accept our sincerest and heartfelt sympathy.
